Hello wonderful people from the internet!
Welcome to the fifteenth chapter of our development journey!
We’re deep into the milestone now, and Enu is growing more and more into the game we’ve envisioned. This update shines a light on the challenges we’re tackling, the breakthroughs we’ve made, and the steady progress carrying us toward a polished prototype.
What is the current state of play?
Over the past few weeks, we’ve made significant progress. While there aren’t any brand-new systems, enemies, storylines, or artwork to showcase just yet, we’ve put together a small, though still a bit rough around the edges, prototype. The exhibition was a success, and now it’s your turn. this Thursday, you’ll be able to try out the prototype yourself and share your thoughts on the concept and vision behind Enu.
We’re really excited that the game’s vision is now coming across more clearly than before, thanks to the realm-switch. In the video below, you can see how the new realm switch works in action and get a feel for how rotation integrates with it.
Whats next
Normally, we kick things off with game design and art, but since both departments are taking a well-deserved break this week, it’s all about programming. The main focus will be fixing the last major bugs in the prototype and then transitioning the project fully into 2D. Over the past months, we’ve realized that we don’t actually need any 3D characters or assets, so making the switch to a pure 2D setup makes much more sense for the project. It’s a big step and will take some time, but we’re tackling it this week.
That’s it for this week’s update! Step by step, Enu is becoming more than just an idea, and we’re thrilled to share the journey with you. Thanks for reading, testing, and cheering us on, it really keeps us moving forward. Stay tuned, because there’s plenty more to discover just around the corner!
